Three Day Carving Workshops with me in Orpington, Kent​

These are small classes of 3 or 4  so you will get plenty of attention 

All materials are provided. Tools can be loaned or purchased.

Please bring your own magnifying headsets.

Tea , coffees and a light lunch are provided. 

There is a Premier Inn in Orpington, ten minutes drive from me, with plenty of restaurants around it

Please be aware that I am just inside the LEZ ULEZ zone so if driving check your car is compliant before you come

  These workshops will be held in the medieval barn of Priors Hall an important historic house in the picturesque village of Stebbing, Essex.

I will be teaching a choice of two carved chests

 

The Leaf Chest

Made in the 16th century it is deeply carved with a leaf design and has curious faces at  the corners.

Suitable for all skill levels.  For experience carvers it can also be done in 1/24th scale.

The Vine Chest

Made about 1610 it has a bold design of stylized vines with grapes, curling tendrils and leaves all neatly interlinked with three small triangular shapes.

A more challenging design not suitable for beginners unless they have fine motor skills.
